Case Study - Analysing Passive Design Strategies

 

This module taught me the importance of basic building designs and passive stratgies to achieve comfort as well as cost reduction for a building

i learnt what thermal comfort is, the factors that relate to it and analyze the effect of thermal comfort in a person and a place.

Moreover, this module gave me the ability to criticize building design interms of thermal comfort by referring to MS1525 and UBBL.

 

The case study below hepled me understand passive design strategies and how it is implemented in a building. As a group of 7. we analyzed the basic building design, effects of the sun on thermal performace and effect of thermal mass and air movement. 

For the case study our group focused the on two of the passive design strategies in this building. This project strengthened my ability to work in a group.
